Two Supply Chain RVP’s (PM and WB) were let go today.
Furloughed associates will be notified Wednesday that their jobs are being eliminated entirely.

I will have to say I am very angry about this entire situation within Staples. I have had the pleasure to work with many of the best account managers, CSC'S etc. I have a heavy heart knowing that most of the very best people and friends have been terminated or "laid off" to make the powers that be feel better. Leaving the far less competent individuals to use the bucket with no bottom to remove the water from the lifeboat.
DY and his band of butt kissers got to retain their jobs? Boy, if they only know about DYs trouble with campaign fraud...things that make you go HMMMMM....
Yes, big shakeup with SBA Itams Wed. Some were promoted to new created salary sales roles and some were actually demoted. but they all were told they’re safe and definitely returning full time July 13th. the itams not included on BB calls were not told they are safe or given a date to return. Those people will probably have to wait until GTM Is dismantled and the accounts are all reassigned to see how things shake out. Definitely stressful along with not getting unemployment. Staples please do one thing right for a change. Every new idea you think up with creating roles and departments have been nothing but epic fails. Just hope the new roles have a some protection clause bc if it follows true like all of the other “great” changes In the past, in 1 year time all these people will be shuffled around again or walked out the door bc the new role didn’t perform as expected.
I was on furlough for 2 1/2 months and today got laid off. Never heard from my boss the whole time. I was in robotics & automation engineering group. I got 8 weeks of severance and 3 weeks of vacation pay. However, medical only to the end of the week, then COBRA. I've been therefor a year.
I just got off the phone with my RSD. I was Furlough and they eliminated my position. In California they did give me a severance package of 4 weeks. I was an outside account manager. Tell you the truth I'm glad I was so stress with this job and being furlough was the first time I have been stress free. I put my trust in God and know that he has something better out there for me.
Told us a year ago?!?! So June 16th, 2019 you knew that a global pandemic was coming.
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiggggggghhhhht.
how can you people keep being this dumb, month after month, year after year?
at this point, you deserve to get reamed.
Yes my so called mgr set up a call early morning, I’m so relieved, thank God. Perfect timing. Good bye my friends on this post. I’m a frequent poster and my day as come to end. Breath people, breath .... You are now out of this toxicity, breathhhhhhhh!
If your manager scheduled a call with you for tomorrow you will likely be let go.
Where is this information coming from? Do we know any specific departments?
unless I missed it, it looks like retail was the only one with the wording changed to include to severance for furloughed. Staples Inc nad and online do not include anything about no severance for furloughed.
100% furloughed TAM here. Conference call tomorrow with my manager. Hope severance is still part of the package
100% furloughed TAM, conference call with my manager tomorrow morning. Hope the severance will still be part of the package.
Thanks for the information. 24 years in supply chain, sickening the furloughed will not be receiving severance packages or any type of benefit. What goes around comes around folks Let's keep positive through this! God bless you all.
Do we know if ASM's are going to be affected at all by this?
Haven’t heard anything in furniture dept yet
Havent heard anything in our department. Is any other department notified of this
please share this thread with folks - the more people we get on this thread the better info will be shared
I don't think they can legally change the policy while people are on furlough. Furloughed associates should be grandfathered into the policy that was in place when they put us on furlough. I'm sure there are legalities involved. They probably changed it for the future. Let's try to be optimistic.
THANK you for informing us that this is coming. Obvious it has to be true. Frankly management is terrible, unqualified most of them. Sandy open up your eyes! I will take the layoff, but it’s not fair to not pay out severance. We busted out asses for this company for years and now you want to send us off empty handed? That’s not fair at all. Farewell my friends. I liked the people and appreciate everyone posting her to inform us. Good luck to all of you.
Confirmed- no severance package for furloughed employees. Nice!
Looks like severance policy was recently updated. "Associated placed on furlough...are ineligible for severance benefits under the plan"
Just received notice of major budget cuts (second round since April) in my department. Nothing was mentioned regarding headcount reduction, but it seems inevitable.
Almost everyone has been furloughed to some extent at least if you are in sales or account management. So, I am assuming you are saying the people who were furloughed 100% will be let go on Wednesday. What about those furloughed 50%? Does this include TAMS and KAMS? Most of those were furloughed 50% then this week they were told to work M-T 8-3. I have a call scheduled with my boss Wednesday. Not happy. Thank you Fauci. Also, to original poster, what about severance packages!??
yay!
Does anyone know if we will get a severance package and paid for unused vacation time?
Who is making the decisions on who stays and who goes? Respected, long term associates are being terminated, and inexperienced people are being kept or brought in from the outside. What is happening to Staples!?
Does anyone know if Staples changed it’s policy regarding severance?
Thanks for the heads up. I guess I’m out. Since SD has taken over it’s been horrible. They’re letting go, as usual, some very good/respectable people and keeping the arrogant, lying ones. I hate to say it, but good things await for me on the other side.
What happened to the rumor of anyone that does not return that hasn’t come back by the 22nd is not guaranteed a spot, are the ones coming back the 22nd gone too?
They picked the wrong ones to let go. Another example of poor decisions
