No bumping out of 273? No bumping into 66? The Favorites get to stay
@5dtw+15tNKWl9. The hall is to busy counting the stipend they get from the national to actually do anything for its members, and with super seniority they dont worry about layoffs, so for them, life is good!
@5dtw+15tNKWl9, I feel okay (not good) with IUE 301 union leadership. Gotta better than the union nuts at Momentive (IUE 359, I think) that went out for 105 days and came back for the same package they struck over.
@6dro+15tNKWl9..."ge isnt a company you can retire from anymore", you know such a private sector company? Today's economy isn't your dad's or g-pa's. Be ready to change jobs 4-5 times and save for your own retirement. Embrace that reality
@5dtw+15tNKWl9 you're absolutely correct, the hall is completely useless you ask any questions nobody knows anything. I volunteered to take the layoff being that we were told paperwork was to be in 6/19 went to the hall was then told that the deadline is next friday and it's not even guaranteed any of us that volunteered will get it. My thing is why even offer it if you dont even know anything about numbers or how many its actually going to effect, I've been with ge since 2012 and have been laid off more times then I can count on one hand quite frankly I'm tired of it, ge isnt a company you can retire from anymore
Other than not having a meeting with members since Feb 2020, why doesn't each and every member have a copy of the seniority list, a copy of the actual signed consolidation agreement that the crooked BA and current President worked up and signed, and a clear explanation of the layoff policy in Schenectady/301? Is the reason for the lack of all this and more, that the knowledge of a educated membership scares the hell out of hall leadership? A educated membership could actually hold leaders accountable, and god forbid, the membership who actually runs 301, be able to do what the bylaws actually say!!!
building 66 workers where skilled labor last layoff. This time around the recently voted on job code/rate change in building 66, skilled 19 rate gave up skilled labor code to become entry level 20 rate for a dollar, and gave up 40 hrs of bad time, time and attendance policy. So if 45 folks from R & D take the 20 rate offer to stay, the bottom 45 from the seniority list should be on the chopping block. But lets see how the hall jukes and jives to save certain people regardless of the way a union shop is supposed to work! Already talk of a lower service guy from grc bumping to a off shift a guy with more service, because the lower service guy is assumed more important in that FH job! WTF is the sense of being a union shop if sh– like that is gonna be thrown in the face of members???
This sounds pathetic...it is not up to you. If you think you are one of 276, which seems the case, jist move on and stop whining. I am sick of d rate t rates sh–
when are the picket lines going up?
The only bumping going on is bumping uglies.
@1ijw+ That doesn't apply to entry level jobs, basically any "C" job and some others can be bumped, that rule applys to skilled trades and higher rated jobs.
In order to bump toys have to of held that specific job code.
Only 45 employees getting laid off out of 273 and 60 out of GRC that’s 105 t rates out the door.
How come the men ever from 273 could not bump into 66 the last layoff? So why should the GRC be able to bump into 273?
That’s hilarious 😂😂😂, anyone with more service than the lowest service person in the plant can bump!!! Welcome to the pain train. And by the sound of things, there won’t be anybody taking the garbage offer either, so if you’re in that bottom 45, get ready and good luck.
45 can bump.
Boo-yah!!! Fist Bump!!!!
Keep telling yourself that. And christ you sound drunk already
