Thread regarding Textron layoffs

Reality Check

Textron Aviation does not want to lay off any employees. Employees create value = profit through labor. Folks do not take it personal but we know it is if you're the one being laid off, your life style, family, health insurance, etc. are all threatened. But all Textron Aviation employees have the responsibility to keep the company solvent for current and future product demand or there is no Textron Aviation and no jobs for anyone. If your labor is not needed for the time being unfortunately layoffs become a reality. Be grateful whether you are laid off or not, if you are laid off many times this will open other doors in your life that lead to bigger and better things.

Take this opportunity to make lemonade out of lemons. Perseverance and a good attitude will get you far in life. I wish you all the best.

If you think Draper’s raise, or let alone pay, is $18M a year, then you are ridiculously mistaken. SLT all took 20% pay cuts to start.

I would like to point out that all I did was run the numbers. That in and of itself is not a declaration that it should be done. I am positive not a single one of us on this page is in any position or has the necessary qualifications to make an “executive” decision.

My cat is Satan Quote: "If we took drapers 18mil and distributed it amongst the workforce we would be able to pay 300 people a wage of 28.85 an hour, full time, for an entire year."

Wow I want you running my company ...... your'e executive decision is to pay 300 people to stand around doing nothing for a year ........ we should be bankrupt in no time.

Oh jeez. I can only guess who this is. You kissed butt to stay employed through the other cycles and knew a few people. Get out of here. God will deal you later. You’re the person who has ruined more than a few peoples lives by spreading your personal terrible judgment with the butts you kiss.

If I'm laid off, I will not endure anymore Aircraft layoffs money be damned. I will seek employment in other industries and probably will anyway. They will use this for the reason not to give any raises for the next 4 years all the while increasing the health insurance premiums stating just wait it is going to turn around any day. When does turn around your wages will not catch up to the inflation endured during the production downturn. The commercial airline industry is looking at a 5 year turn around to get back to what they call normal, will it take us that long who knows. We had a small gain in production over the 2008 down cycle how long is this one going to take, MUCH LONGER.

Yeah...I don’t buy the “this company cares” line. After so many times requesting equipment or suggesting solutions only to be ignored by incompetent or just plain dumb managers, all they do is give lip service to safety and caring about many of us. I believe some managers do say and believe these things but they are powerless to change anything as they are micro-managed by the numbers from corporate. As far as layoffs, I would like to be laid off and probably get a nice going away severence because I’m very competent and would land somewhere else quickly. And for anyone in Kansas that is bitter to this company for multiple layoffs, etc. maybe you should think of moving to another area of the county that isn’t so subject to the whims of a single industry. I write this not meaning to be malicious.

Watch the security exchange commission web site for a filing, found the one from December...filed on Tuesday the 6th of December layoffs on Thursday. I'm guessing textron will repeat the pattern.
How many people could remain employed with Drapers raise?

How many corporate executives are going to take a pay cut? Didn't Draper get 18 million dollar raise this year? A raise for failed leadership?

This will be my 5th layoff. This time in the middle of a k–ling pandemic. My mood is not appreciative, nor to be willingly lectured. Not while other countries like Germany have unemployment rates at 6%, and still have a healthcare. So please Mr. Laissez Faire please kindly stick to the subject at hand.
