Any idea about how things are looking for Cummins given the challenges we have had in 2020?

I talked about this a few months ago that it seems like Managers or the managers that are in charge of the ones being RIF are never told until that day. It shows that the manager doesn't have any input or even a say in why they shouldn't get rid of this person. That is why a person ranked positive/1 can be gotten rid of because the decision isn't based on ranking but what corporate has told them to do. I remember telling one of my managers years ago that upper management truly the VIP on up don't care or know who I am or even you. All they care about is if you fit those metrics they decided will be gotten rid of and if you and a few of your coworkers do then they are gone and your manager only finds out that day.
Yes, my manager was not aware of my termination either until right before I was notified. I believe it, because I was a manager and I was left out of the decisions on my people as well, and I went through it for several RIFs! I was a high pot, and I had someone that worked for me who was a high pot too and was let go. Ignorant leadership at Cummins for decades now.
My manager cared too when I got RIF'd, but it wasn't his decision to make. That should give you a real good insite about CMI real core values. Employees are a cost not an asset. What's the point of being a manager if you have no control who's on your team.
Won't generalize. Some managers really care.
I have been with Cummins 5 yrs . The way things have been going I go to work everyday thinking is today the Day they let me go. I can see a another RIF coming really soon .Very sad how they run at are branch just one big sh!! Show everyday. Mangers are a joke half the time they don’t even show up to work .
I'd like to know the same?
