Thread regarding Cogswell Polytechnical College layoffs

More layoffs to come

More layoffs are anticipated. We are losing students, starts are not even close for the summer. And the last few starts didn't make it either.

Layoffs are a part of business. Poor decisions on who to lay-off is what is disconcerting. We lost good faculty and kept poor admissions reps. Says a lot

During my time at Cogswell, we went through a series of layoffs. The layoffs are reflective of the market and the needs of business. In order to survive, done businesses need to make layoffs. With that said, having worked in education, the quality of education tends to be sacrificed. Cogswell has laid off people based on salary abs not need of student or how that employee contributed. It see red that their decisions as to who to lay-off were based on financials only. That to me was disappointing .

I can’t imagine how Cogswell plans to operate effectively if they lay off any more people. I do understand that there’s a business said that to this and you have to balance it all. But it seems their decisions are trivial

We already have people backing out for the start in June. They’re holding off til the fall . I think they were hoping shelter in place would have been lifted and they can come to the campus.

They got rid of the wrong people! They should have started with the CEO, VP of Admissions. I bet their salaries together passed the combined salaries of many and good people they laid off recently.
