Thread regarding Fossil Inc. layoffs

Matching donations 2:1 really?

I’m all for the movement and the protests and making change but doesn’t it seem a little tone deaf to tell all of the employees you aren’t paying a full wage to donate and they will donate twice as much with money they “don’t have”?

These matching donations come from the Fossil Foundation, a separate legal entity. Not coming from company dollars.

Tax write offs are only convenient when you have profits!

It's because donations = tax right offs.

Hopefully everyone is saving that extra money that's coming in while furloughed since it runs out at the end of July. And yes, it's just a write off for the company. Also a way to stay relevant.

It benefits them as they will write it off!

Many who are partially furloughed are making more with the extra unemployment they’re getting so they won’t care. Well, until their benefits run out and the reduced schedules and salaries are made permanent.
