Thread regarding Raytheon Co. layoffs

It was not a “merger of equals”

We can all see that UTC is taking over legacy Raytheon. It was a buyout not a merger of equals. Lies.

If UTC did not "buy" Raytheon they would be filing for Bankruptcy.... Legacy Raytheon is keeping RTX alive at the moment

"Yeah, well we don't serve the commercial aerospace industry do we?"

And yet, legacy Raytheon employees are still in here crying as if they're being forced to take cuts (they're not).

"UTC employees have had to take a 10% pay cut, while Raytheon employees haven't taken pay cuts."

Yeah, well we don't serve the commercial aerospace industry do we? Will you be crying after the airlines get a bailout at the expense of defense spending? Will you be sad when its me? Yeah - probably not so much....

I wouldn't have referred to it as a buy out, more like a sellout by Raytheon of its employees.

Is it just me or do others think Greg Hayes has dead looking eyes? I almost threw up the last time I had to listen to multi-millionaire Greg try and educate me on race. Makes me sick.

There will be layoffs at the two Raytheon business units due to the bu mergers and duplication of jobs like hr and IT. Just a matter of time after things settle and they cant find spots for some people. Hiring is for engrs only and maybe others due to retirement but cannot hire for layoff positions.

The two Raytheon legacy businesses are not impacted by pay cuts and the hiring freeze but Corporate legacy Raytheon employees are. This includes GBS which is now Enterprise Services.

UTC employees have had to take a 10% pay cut, while Raytheon employees haven't taken pay cuts.

UTC's companies are all on a hiring freeze, while there have been articles about legacy Raytheon hiring 2,000 people.

https://cdn.defenseone.com/b/defenseone/interstitial.html?v=9.21.3&rf=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.defenseone.com%2Fbusiness%2F2020%2F05%2Fus-defense-firms-hiring-thousands-amid-record-unemployment%2F165270%2F

If that's what people call UTC "favoring" UTC employees and UTC "abusing" Raytheon employees, I find it to be really laughable.

I’d be worried if I was a Raytheon legacy corporate employee. This post seems to hint at UTC favoring their own players resulting in the lay-off of a former Raytheon employee. I read another post on here that said there will no longer be a Corporate. Not sure if that is true.

Sounds like someone is "sore" from losing his/her job. Also sounds like the other legacy Raytheon "stuff" (outside of those 2 legacy Raytheon businesses) are not doing so well (e.g. IT, Corporate, maybe HR).

It was never some big secret that UTC was acquiring Raytheon. I'm not sure what this post is getting at.

Abuse the ones who are keeping you alive. The two legacy Raytheon businesses are still doing well. Hmmm. Enough said.
