Thread regarding Shell Oil layoffs

10000 to 15000 being laid off worldwide

I just got credible info that 10000 to 15000 will be laid off as part of the reorg Ben talked about. Should be announced by end of June. Good luck

Don't wait, join another major operator that is still hiring and get a fresh boost in career. Don't wait till everyone is out job hunting at the same time, when many of these scarce jobs have already been snatched up.

Funny. I think Boston Consulting Group rolled right off of us at Chevron and onto you guys at Shell. You are “project reshape” and we are the “functional transformation”. We also have sub-projects with names like “finance of the future”, “upstream evolution”, “Imagine IT”. BCG is making a k–ling during this cycle. Get ready for fun...

I am not sure the June July timeline for finding out is correct... From what i have been hearing, November - Dec is more likely. The bulk of re-org implementation would be 2021 Q1.

Boston Consulting Company is finalizing “Project Reshape “ which will reduce 10 to 15 K global headcount; Manufacturing will be “ring-fenced” .

Hmmm..."Project Reshape". Just more evidence that BvB is trying to distract everyone from the fact that he overpaid for BG and the company will be suffering for a very long time for that.

Hey hey ho ho Ben Van Beurden has got to go.

Apparently the whole thing is called project "Phoenix". Wish I had more to share, info comes from the unconventionals reorg townhall. Just name was shared.

There are too many JG2-4 managers, especially in IT, that simply walk the hallways all day and add no value to the company, they need to go!

Now thousands are going to wish they were laidoff back in 2013-15 when the job market was better

Yes, he mentioned NA would take the brunt of it. I am in NA and we are downsizing about 25%. I am starting to get tired of all these layoffs

"Worldwide" just means North America, Western Europe and Australia. They're not touching the SBOs or other low-cost centers.

Shell has completely decimated the Pennzoil and Quaker State brands since they purchased them. They really should have stayed away from motor oils. They couldnt get a handle on how to sell them and kept raising prices to maintain margins as volume dropped. Sad but true.

Hmm, EVP level. How even/uneven would the cuts be? Everyone has to MOR???

Management can use a haircut that's for sure.
