Thread regarding National Oilwell Varco Inc. layoffs

Nepotism lasts until it files chapter 11

Other companies cut management cost and restructure from the top. Only NOV cut employees who actually got the jobs done. Lots of fake five-star reviews of NOV were posted in Glassdoor, but eventually people will find out what is happening and what happened to this company after they reviewed this forum. Employees' contributions will never be appreciated and recognized inside this company, only nepotism and favoritism.
To those who are still employed by NOV, buy your managers' lunch everyday is a better way to keep your jobs than complete your projects, if you still have things to do.

Focusing on the political aspect of any and all decisions is a much better way to stay at that company than to give your actual opinion. Its a game of kick the can down the road until someone is forced to make a decision. It usually someone in a lower position so that management can come later and tell that person they made a bad decision.

There are no decision rights or input rights clearly stated. Its a free for all and everyone is trying to avoid any decision making so they can have a political win.

You hit the nail on the head! Way too many Chiefs, not enough Indians. The greed from upper management always worrying about their bonuses and nothing more, will be their demise. NOV will be Bankrupt soon because of this mentality.
