Did anyone else get 13 weeks severance when they were expecting less? I’m thinking that they might have set a minimum of 13 weeks as my length of service was less and for a my position I was only expecting one week for every year. Can anyone else confirm?

Just goes to show you how much incompetence runs deep within Sabre. It's in our products, our systems, our procedures, and even our HR. It's almost like incompetence is our core value.
I have no idea, I am waiting for an email back from them.
If you "have been here since the early days" then why are you only getting 4 weeks of severance?
Worth getting an employment attorney’s opinion on whether there is a chance they would have to honor the mistaken letter. That’s one of those things that professionals would have had at least 3 sets of eyes review before you hit “send”, it’s an inexcusable mistake. But those heads won’t roll until after this is over - because they won’t bring in a contractor to handle final payrolls. Unbelievable.
SMH, how does 13 become 4 by being inverted. 1+ 3 = 4, I can count that high but sounds like an excuse.
Give or take a bit. I'm just over $200K. Have been here since the early days troubleshooting old machines and applications that don't have documentation and that few people in the world know how to use. Not sure what the plan is, there's one other guy in Sabre I know who can manage this stuff and he's getting laid off too. Seems like they just played pin the tail on the donkey with the employee roster.
Check your email - the "People Team" just sent out a correction. " Regretfully, we have discovered that in some cases, the weeks of Severance and the weeks of COBRA subsidy you are eligible for were inverted in the final production of the notice letters."
9 weeks of severance is worth $37,000 to you? Sheesh, what is your job exactly?
Wow, just cut my severance from 13 weeks to 4. There's $37K up in smoke.
wow. just wow.
after so many lay offs these sobs should have their sh– together already....
I just got the correction email as well. What utter incompetence.
Sabre does not have a heart.
Yep - same thing here. I was given 13 weeks severance, PTO payout, and 13 weeks Cobra subsidy with only four years of service. I hope it isn't a mistake. I've reached out to HR (though I really wanted to just see what happens). Seeing that others were awarded the same, perhaps it isn't a mistake. If it is, how cruel!
I asked and they are correcting it. The severance and cobra weeks were reversed on some
It was a mistake. You will be forced to pay it back.
Same here. For those who also received the 13 weeks, were you on furlough? I was.
I am inclined to think it's a mistake since they didn't mention any sort of enhanced severance, and the attached guide shows 1 week/year for non-managerial and 2 wees/year for managerial. People who signed up for voluntary enhanced severance and were declined, only to then be laid off, are still being given the enhanced severance. So maybe HR's mistake was accidentally extending that to more people than were eligible.
If it wasn't a mistake, maybe Sabre decided to have a heart and is going above and beyond for people who were furloughed and will have gone 2 months without pay right before their termination date. If that's in fact what they are doing, I will take back everything bad I've ever said about Sabre. This would be a very nice gesture.
Yep. Same here. I hope it wasn't a mistake
