They abandoned the generations that made them and bet the farm on Gen Z. Now Gen z is playing games like Fortnite and gen x and millennials have left their games for good. A generation that stays focused on a game for maybe 2 weeks before moving on.
Me; I played WoW from day 1. I maintained 3 subs contiguously from 1.x thru somewhere in Cata where I finally took a break. Since then it's been 1-2 months a year.
Good riddance. Blizzard is one of the most toxic and poorly managed companies I've ever seen. It absolutely blows my mind the board hasn't chopped off executive heads over the current state of Warcraft. BFA is an absolute pile of odorous horse dung.
Never have I seen a company so utterly out of touch with their customers.
I finally called it quits couple weeks back. Completely quit MMO's all together. Just too much cash grab content coupled with an unbearable obnoxious, self-centered generation of brats. I've found better things to do with my leisure time then spend it with people I absolutely can't stand.
RIP MMOs.
