I was laid off in April and was told I could not go into Raleigh office to collect my personal things, I was told that I would receive them via mail. Still have not, After 9 years at Allscripts, you would think they would have the common decency to get me my things in a timely fashion or at last let me pick up my things with a security officer. I mailed back my badge and laptop on April 15th.

Disgusting behavior on the part of the employer. After hearing this, at my next job, I am only bringing the bare minimum and removing it at the slightest hint of layoffs. It's only a paycheck.
All this talk about leaving things at the office... Here’s a novel thought... How about leaving as small a footprint as possible going in to the office as leaving it? Take as much money, knowledge, and experience as you can from a company while giving nothing in return but your time.

Go to office and demand ur stuff. Record video and post on YouTube. Mention how critical the belongings are .. that will get management attention.
If the day comes, go home and celebrate.
I had to push my old manager to get back into the building (I had not returned laptop or badges). They arranged for someone to meet me and allow me access.
Nice reference to the biology experiment at the end of the last post. In this day and age, you shouldn’t bring anything into the office that you care about.
For workers that are still at Allscripts... Keep your bags always packed.
Talk with the Raleigh Police Department, and file a police report. Allscripts would do the same to you if it was a laptop or a phone.
Alternatively... Do you really want your stuff back from a Covid infested building?
Rule of Thumb about working at Allscripts.. Don’t take anything into the office that you can’t carry out in a backpack or stuff into your pockets. Leave nothing but garbage behind. My personal favorite observation was a guy that left a tuna salad sandwich stuffed in a tennis shoe in a manager’s old office.
Talk to your lawyer, or your state's dept or labor
