Why does VH have 5 corporate jets if there is no money? Who is using those private jets? There is no money but you can have jets and fuel and no where to go. Doesn't make a lot of sense no one talks about that.

That whole department is a joke no need for that in this poor company. It cost money to keep those pretty boys sharp and running.
They just ordered a new executive jet. Makes no sense. Not sure if it will be cancelled.
@3ugz, Anadarko was purchased 10 months ago. The question OP is asking, is why hasn't Oxy sold the 4 additional jets yet? That has been more than enough time to sell at least a couple of them. We've been able to sell Mozambique and the office buildings in The Woodlands, but we can't sell those? Oxy's CFO talked about that prior to the acquisition, when they mentioned the wasteful Anadarko spending. But let's be honest, our executive management likes the jets too much. They're willing to cut our salaries 30%, but the corporate jets aren't yet on the chopping block.
Well actually Oxy had one Jet. It was ~80 seater and was used by employees to get from houston to west texas and new mexico. No private executive jets.
When Oxy bought APC that came with 4 jets. Do some thinking about which company was the more corporate elite and wasteful once these facts settle. I am sure at least 3/4 jets will be sold off soon. Maybe keep one for more employee trips out. The execs dont need a jet. If they are keeping them out of any other reason than some outside circumstance (ie Needing to fulfill contracts etc) then everyone should be p-ss-d.
Chazen sold the jets before when oil price crashed. The VH came and started her crazy spending like the wife of a petroleum engineer
I used to be proud to work in this industry. Not anymore. After 10 years, the BS I hear coming out of most executives mouths is making me mentally and physically sick. The culture is toxic, maybe it's always been but true colors are showing now...

Duh. Different rules for the elite! If they want to use our tax money to pay for jet maintenance, who's going to stop them?
