Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

Why make us wait???

Once again Sabre announces layoffs and then lets us stew for who knows how long before sending out notifications. Why? Why be so unnecessarily cruel? So many of us already have so much to worry about, especially considering everything that's been going on, and now we have to add this to our plates?

This is not right.

It is worst. They wont make you wait. They would fire 800 on monday. The so many times mentioned 2 months furlough would be end before for 800 to be laid of next monday. So if you believed Sean an thought that in worst case you would be fired in 3 weeks, surprise that would happen on monday

Wait is only till Monday. That would be last day for all being let go.

Why bring up a bonus later this year now? Before you lay people off. Wouldn't this be better to share with your "new" organization? Not sure that was well thought out.

im sure they want a better indication of who is actually coming back after furlough so that they can know how that affects the 800.
Thats one smart reason on why to wait.

I agree. Seems like waiting is what they love making us do. Sean released the video about the furlough and made employees wait 2 days to find out if they were on the list or not. Same story for this. They might as well have let people know yesterday.

Sabre and a million other companies are known for lay-offs. Millions! Even Mom & Pops depending on the circumstances. Sabre is in the travel industry, and that industry has always been somewhat unstable because of a variety of reasons.

Lay offs are not something that we couldn't expect due to current circumstances but way that is being introduced is highly discussable.

Sabre was known for lay offs even when times were good.
