But how many black people are on the senior leadership team? How many black VPs and directors are at Staples? Again, all talk, no substance and not grounded in reality. Try again, SD - you’re missing the mark, as well as missing all your targets.
Hadn’t heard about the JC Penny bid, makes sense why not bringing back furlough anytime soon. Need the profits and the payroll reduction for other investments while their sales organization gets fired and others can’t keep up their rent or mortgage payments or feed their families. Unemployment is not working for many of those furloughed and jobs are scarce as everyone scrambles. CCO is not engaged with anyone outside of her inner circle and the inner circle has no credibility either. What’s the plan Staples/Sycamore- do you care about your people or not, throw us a bone, please, at least we can feed it to our dog and he won’t starve.

How does the company justify its sudden culture of targeting specific groups of people (religion, color, s-xual orientation etc.) for leadership positions after we all went through unconscious bias training?

As a long time vendor i noticed long ago how “white” staples and other Massachusetts’ retailers are compared to the country. Black buyers at staples? Bjs? Lechmere? Tjx? Almost none in 25 years. This fortunately isn’t as much the case in the rest of the country’s retailers. Weird. And sad for your state of mass.
