@2sll+15iRMx6d So he's from that area. AND?????? We have 50 states in this country, as well as many territories. We are supposed to cater our discussions to the various residents of certain random states? We dont cater to any particular states. There are 50 of them. If someone wants some research on a particular state, then they should use that wonderful tool called google, and do it themselves. NY, NJ, CT, are as significant to our discussion as Guam, USVI, or PR, which have more stores (I think) than the former 3. I don't care where someone is from. We are all here with the ultimate goal of seeing this company out of existence. I dont care if the stores are in Wyoming or NY. We just want them blasted out. And it will happen soon, hopefully.
Maybe the person posting is from that area? It's really not that hard to comprehend. Well, maybe it is for you.
I dont Know why those particular 3 states matter any more than the others. There arent a whole lot of stores left in those areas anyway. Especially on the Kmart side, all of New England has only 1 non-closing Kmart and that's in MA. While NY has 5 (I don't count Brooklyn as it's a Sears), and NJ has 4. FOUR, LOL. I lived in NJ for 23 YEARS. Kmarts were all over the place. I think we had about 70 of them? Now there are 4, Avanel, West Wood, then the duo of Kearney/Belleville, which are about 1 mile apart (which is extremely id–tic to keep both open when they are walking distance from 1 another). Reduce overhead by consolidating business into 1 of those instead of both. Do a google search on how close they are.
A few years ago, when some other Sears stores in our district went to liquidation, our store had a large amount of clearance apparel, so they had us pack a bunch of apparel up to ship to those stores to sell.
If the website is any indication, the answer is that they are already out of business: go to the website and look for any product category that was a mainstay of Sears, particularly hard lines. If you should happen to see something of interest, which is unlikely, try locating it in a store. Virtually all products are not available in the few stores they still have (and that would be nearby enough to make it possible to come in) , and the only things that show up are from the "marketplace", which contains a hodgepodge of stuff. Doesn't look like this is a going concern.
TransformCo is too broke to afford liquidators
Before closing for covid-19, Newport Centre Sears was getting really sparse with merchandise. If they are going to liquidate a location, isnt it filled up with products before turning over to the liquidator??
Bridgehampton kmart looking kinda empty but since so much has been closed its hard to tell if its just because of that.
If it says "Sears" above the door it will be closing.
Nothing apparent yet, probably no public info until stores open from lockdown.
