I can see Conduent is being classy as always, informing their employees they are out at the last minute(!)
Sorry to hear about that...

Placed on an 8-week furlough with a return to work date of 6/22. Received notice on 6/19 that the furlough was changed to a permanent separation from the organization.

Taking Voluntary Furlough and any other unpaid leave, pay cuts etc. will not prevent layoffs. This is a certainty. I left 2 yrs ago after being with ACS/XRX/CNDT for 10 yrs (Director level). Best decision I ever made AND I’ve never looked back. Nothing has changed and in fact, seems much worse now (didn’t think that was possible). Miss some of the people and learned a lot but that’s it. Get paid as long as you can while looking for something else.

I know for sure that what OP said is true.
Conduent Mexico is laying off the majority of its "Xerox" staff as they lost their contract to HCL.
I hope that they will show some class and give them, along with the severance package, the salaries they are due for working on public holidays (Given that it's something they do all over the country, AN and her goons probably made a boatload of money off their backs)

Voluntary furloughs? That’s funny with the current unemployment rate.

They have to cut (ie. lay-off, furlough, pay cut) at the very least to the extent revenue is falling.

Most of the “fat” that needs to be cut and will semi stabilize them is at the top and in the middle. The revenue per employee is much higher at the bottom.

My department sent out email about voluntary non paid furlough to “prevent” cuts. Unemployment and excuse of Covid. Just seems like a way to save them money to me. No thanks. Ship sinking.
