Very hush hush. At least UP gave unpaid forced leave. Very hard to trust leadership. ‘We’re not following PSR’, and we did. ‘We’re not planning layoffs or forced leave but keeping an eye on things.’ Then 2 days later three mech facilities shut down, and three weeks later corporate/exempt layoffs.

BNSF just cut 30 employees from their TS Dept.

Argentine LMIT IAM- 13 people, IBEW- 25 people, Smart- 5 people, IBB- 3 people, NCFO- 4 people for a total of 50.
Barstow LMIT, IAM- 16 people, IBEW- 25 people, for a total of 41.
Richmond, IAM- 2 people, IBEW- 2 people, BRC- 3 people for a total of 7.
Stockton, BRC- 2 for a total of 2
Corwith locomotive, IAM- 6 people, IBEW- 8 people, for a total of 14.
Springfield, BRC- 4 people, NCFO- 2 people for a total of 6.
Permanent reductions at Memphis
IAM- 3 people, IBEW- 1 person, BRC- 15 people, NCFO- 1 person for a total of 20.
Effective June 5th for Memphis.
Previously announced reductions at Alliance Locomotive will increase by 50 people. 15 Machinists, 15 Electricians, 15 Laborers, 5 Pipe fitters.
Also Topeka will cut 8 Electricians all effective June 5th.
