Thread regarding Sears layoffs

External link to NH closing

So I posted this in my master command list thread, but since threads have a way of disappearing in here, I thought I'd post it here too.

So I contacted various media outlets in Minot and Lebanon, and shared with them, the closing link. I did this, because, in case Eddie/Larry pull the closing links from the job listing website, at least there will be legitimate external links, to the closings. So far Valley News has obliged my request for a news story on the subject. Their editor emailed me, thanking me for the news Tip. You're welcome:

I thought your point of contacting the Media was to help local residents? The article doesn’t give the local residents any information.

@2ozs+15dJSkl5 LMAO, that article can state what it wants. The company has already confirmed the closing ON THEIR OWN FREAKING JOBS WEBSITE. It's right freaking here if you bothered to read it. You s— it. Or have your mom do it as she normally does.

@2duy+15dJSkl5 Ya, he eats it alright. He eats your mom's (other word for kitty) EVERY DAY!

@2voc+15dJSkl5 Sears is selling it. Sears owns Kmart so even if it was a standalone-Kmart (which it isn't), Sears is ultimately selling the stuff. Just because the Brooklyn Sears decides to sell 2 cereal boxes or mustard bottles in their deserted basement that 2 people shop in All Day, does not make it a full line Sears. It's just a novelty that Eddie came up with at 3 AM when he was Drunk 1 Night. The location is still a Sears, and it will remain a Sears until which point it's closed, which will hopefully be soon.

In that case you will need to remove more Kmarts from your list because not all have the full assortment, especially at a high level when comparing Kmart to BigKmart to SuperK formats (although all SuperKs are closed by now or converted to BigK format). You are also misinformed. Sears is not selling the product in the lower level, Kmart is.

@2thw+15dJSkl5 Nope, Brooklyn is a Sears that just sells a few grocery items in their basement, as a silly novelty. It's not a full line Kmart and won't be counted as one.

List man Jack is single-handedly maintaining this list. He is doing an awesome job, carrying this list on his back, doing this wonderful research. Thanks Jack, wherever you are, whoever you are. Please keep this up, as we see this company out, and the count finally reach zero, which is our ultimate goal. We'll get there Jack. Hang in there buddy, keep THE FAITH, they will be gone very soon.

@2nxf+15dJSkl5 Excellent point Jack!

@1ezs+15dJSkl5 But the company DID confirm it by listing closing jobs on their website.

@2tpj+15dJSkl5 I literally posted that very link, a few posts below where you did. The only reason that story even exists in the Minot Daily News is because I emailed their Tip line, with the closing jobs link, and requested they write a story on it. They thanked me and then published the story as I requested.

@rgi+15dJSkl5 That's an excellent idea. I think I'll call them to see if they'll admit to those 3 stores (MA, MI, MT) closing. The 3, "M"-states. They are all 1 Kmart states. Montana, I can almost guarantee is closing, because there are no more Kmarts within a 1500 mile radius of it, now that Minot is gone. As for MI, MA, pretty much similar reason, no stores close by, so delivery is not efficient. Ron mentioned that there's a Target across the street from Hyannis Kmart, so that charade can't last long.
I would also look at the 2 Maryland stores as possible closings. They are just randomly located about halfway up Eastern Seaboard, with no states with Kmarts nearby. Then I would also look at the stupidly located ones, such as Bridgehampton NY. Most of the NY stores are clustered in or around NYC, but then you have this one way out on Eastern LI. Also, look at either 1 or both of Kearney and Belleville NJ. Those stores are walkable to each other. They have to be stealing business from one another so one of them will surely go. These are just some ideas for Eddie to eliminate, at least on the Kmart end of things.

Oh, almost forgot, they should get rid of Kmarts in Long Beach CA, Silver Spring MD, Miami FL, and White Plains NY, as well as the ones I listed before. For the simple reason, that these 4 towns have both a Kmart AND Sears, in some cases within walking distance of each other, so they could consolidate operations into 1 building.

So start there, Eddie, then we can work on getting rid of the rest, after that.

This article is useful :https://www.minotdailynews.com/news/local-news/2020/05/minots-kmart-store-scheduled-to-close-july-17/

The one on this thread is not!

It's quite useful to the people who live in that local area and who read the local newspaper.

I think @fxe+ is just saying the story is pretty worthless because it doesn't really tell us anything new. The store is closing but no one who works for the company will officially admit yet. So it is kind of a useless article Jack.

@fxe+15dJSkl5 If SEARS OWN jobs website lists it as closing, then it IS confirmed. I NEVER post a closing UNTIL a link is available because that would be irresponsible. I posted links to both NH AND ND closings. They are goners! Good riddance. Hopefully more to come soon.

Wonder if there will be more like Montana, Michigan and Massachusetts? Wonder if you should contact those as well even though there aren’t job postings.

If corporate or the store itself won't confirm... how is this "confirmation?" Sounds like an epic fail by list man Jack. Maybe he should jack off to some store links?

Alright! 1 of the outlets I contacted was Minot Daily News and they promptly honored my request for a story on the closure. According to the article, they are closing July 17. Cool!

Better than Eddie, who takes the money from the kids at St. Judes to the point where they have to sue him for it.

Just wanted to add, I contacted Minot Newspapers, as well as various ND TV stations, so there should be an external link posted to that one soon. I'm going to try to do this for each closing going forward. Hopefully, more to come soon.
