All this corona work from home and I really don’t have much to do since April. I check my email a few times per day, but my boss doesn’t give assignments or deadlines any more since April. My boss can’t handle anything that makes him look bad, so pointless to go there. He’s probably more worried about loosing his job and fancy house than I am. I can’t talk to my coworkers cause they are all scared of being laid off and are generally untrustworthy backstabbers. There is no more BD work left since Am ran the company out of cash over the Spec deal. This all s—s, but I need the pay to cover bills for my family. I feel no future here. Anyone else feeling the same disconnection? How can I get through this?

No work to do? Must be in Infrastructure Planning.
Al has no money to spend on Infrastructure anymore.
This situation really exposes who was just sitting at their desk doing nothing.
Don’t be an a-hole. If you need to question and have it explained to you because of a typo someone made, you need to go. Survival of the cognitive and respectful!
VMO? You are dyslexic, you need to go! Survival of the fittest!
Why is hr evil? They do what the vps tell them to do
It's only going to get busier after the VWO. There is going to be a lot of knowledge lost so people will have to get up to speed.
I’ve been crazy busy. Even put in a couple of 12 hour days recently. Sorry you don’t have work but you might be in the minority.
I doubt this post is from a real employee. It’s probably our evil HR department checking to see if employees comment and agree with the sentiment. Everyone I talk to on a regular basis is busier than ever.
Where there is no future it is hard to genuinely feel connected. We are all hanging on for our dear lives on a daily basis and waiting for our time to come. The only way to truly get through this is to move on because it is never going to improve. Use this time to develop your skills for your next position.
Trust me, this is a really bad time because of looming layoffs. But when it will be time for you to back to the office, you will miss some of these days. So take advantage of this being at home, enjoy your time. If you don't have much to do, do some learning on the job, learn systems, processes; it will only give you more competetive advantage.
Wow. Count your blessings! I have been so overwhelmed with work since this all hit and my boss just keeps piling more on..working every weekend day, holiday, and barely getting a full night sleep. I need a vacation just to sleep.
Well it sounds c-appy in your department/ area
Jus be lucky your not buried in a truly corrupt region/ area....... look North of Edmonton say about 5 hours where a fire raged through there 4 years ago.
No idea why senior leadership in Calgary/ Edmonton don’t go up there and lift the lid and flush out the rats
Or you could actually work earn a fair wage? Plenty of work to do in other departments. If your boss is too clueless and helpless, go around them and volunteer elsewhere to be an honest worker.
Sounds like my department minus not having any work. I think we’ll all know more once the dust settles after this VMO. For now, I’d say take advantage of the downtime.
