Occidental Petroleum Corporation (NYSE:OXY) said today that its Board of Directors has declared a regular quarterly dividend of $0.01 per share on common stock payable on July 15, 2020, to stockholders of record as of June 15, 2020. This is an update to the company’s previously announced dividend policy change from March 10, 2020, which reduced the quarterly dividend to $0.11 per share.

They’re stringing shareholders along until bankruptcy. One breath she talks about the divy being a core component, raises it, then takes on debt to pay it. Then slashes it by 86%, then 3 months later by 91% immediately after being given control of the wheel again. What a disgusting place. She should be in jail
Possibly a big question for you is why you own nearly 7,600 shares of Oxy and DEPENDED on that for income. Have you heard of diversification??? I get it if you have enough money to afford losing a lot on a crazy gamble but yikes!
Believe me I am no where near being rich and really counted on the Oxy dividend for extra money. With the new dividend I went from making 24,000.00 a year in dividends to know making 525.00 a year. It is what it is, but people should lose jobs for k–ling shareholder value like this. It can’t all be blamed on the virus and low oil prices. It has a lot to do with the egos and brains that run Oxy. Lessoned learned save more and keep it away from people like this.
Why did they sound so upbeat on the annual meeting call and then do this?

A penny per share. I bought a lot of stock before the cut to 11 cents. This is the type of continued BS that makes me just want to walk away from Oxy employment. I try my best to keep positive, but it is one thing after another, and we still have the same people in charge. I guess going forward we need to make up excuses for not doing our jobs, but we would get fired probably. I have zero faith in the people in-charge.
