No guarantee that people forced out in MOR will get 3 weeks. I've been with Shell for 6 years and been through 2 MORs. In the past, the people that were forced out got the same as the people that volunteered.
But these are different times....cash is king. I would not be surprised at all if the package for thopse forced out is only 2 weeks/year.
Yep, VSP is a self-layoff, to give people certainty on exit, especially in units which may be slow to re-org and give packages otherwise.
It's not always easy to get a package of one is not in the line of a reorg.
Involuntary package won't be worse.
The voluntary severance package was a joke unless you were looking to retire within the next 18 months (which may have been the target market).
I'm confident those who lose their jobs involuntarily will also receive 3 weeks for every year of service.
Our VP said the involuntary severance will match the voluntary. Time will tell.
