Cogswell as a school was fun, but the new management is the worst. The CEO is all about numbers and profit and it shows when he separated the students from certain staff and departments. I only like the dean guy, Dr. Shepard. Other than that, the leadership team makes the worst decisions. Cogswell is going down as a school.

I graduated right before the new guy came in. I had a lot of friends still there and there were p-ss-d AF. The guy just came and k–led the culture of the school. Glad I got out in time.
AI dude came in and just ruined the culture, morale, and even atmosphere of the campus. Bull in China shop
The school has been through too many presidents in 5 years. And this is what they ended up with?
I was a graduate in the 2004. I absolutely LOVED Cogswell. I have been hearing rumblings through the network because we are a tight group of professionals. Many students adore their faculty, and find it difficult to see them working under the conditions that they are in. Many faculty have changed over in the last few years. I was surprised and disappointed.
As an alum, I hope that the school doesn’t close. Not sure how I would get my transcripts or if my future employers would believe I had a degree. I personally enjoyed my time with fellow classmates and faculty. Didn’t care much for outside if that.
I loved loved loved the faculty and student services. Basically everyone that wasn’t in the “Richie Row Right” as we students called it. That’s the section of the campus To the right that was about the $. By the time I was a senior, we were cut off . Piano... gone... back wall... up. Quiet room... gone. It was VERY obvious the direction the school was going.
I have worked a few different Art schools and never felt one that's gone more corporate than Cogswell. There used to be a culture and now it's just corporate.
Charles R. was the wrong choice for our school. Not sure who made the decision. But he has turned it upside down.
I second that. That was the main reason I went to another digital arts school system. The new management came in and tore the culture to shreds. There's a way to implement change and make improvements, but when one comes in and says how everything is all wrong and tries to recreate the Art Institutes (which by the way, shut down), it left many of us with a bitter taste in our mouths and lack of confidence in the new direction. Change management was not his forte. Such a shame, good school. Yes, needed some more direction... but in the right direction would have been nice.
Agreed. That's the main reason why I withdrew. I enrolled elsewhere where I felt the management cared about its students.
