So many techs calling out sick every other day, or taking LOA suddenly for extended times. But hey, lets keep booking service calls and then disappointing our few remaining "members" by constantly rescheduling them. No backup plan. Only RESCHEDULE!. Sad, but true. Get rescheduled once, MAYBE I'll call again. Rescheduled TWICE?? You're done. This is a quaint and simple concept that management never really understood. I truly believe that there are secret INCENTIVE CHECKS for management throughout the districts that have the most reschedules. Maybe like a year end BONUS or something similar. SAD!
More and more broken down vans everyday. TWO or more days in a shop for a repair. No spare vans available. More and more techs calling out for whatever reason. More and more overbooked routes. Absolutely NO communication between management and employees. No one in management has any solutions. Just keep going with the status quo that got us here in the first place.
This dump called A&E is on life support, and no one has the GUTS to just pull the plug. Someone needs to put their big boy/girl pants on, and pull it. PULL IT!!

I got out several years ago. Many of my technicians left and started their own repairs businesses. I still use and refer them to this very day. Being a manager for Sears/AE was one of the worst/stressful jobs I have ever had. I figured out real fast what those mo–ns I answered to were all about...and it wasn't the employees or customers.
@1uut+15bD3ETh Providing PPE would be a great start
I love how you blame Sears for techs calling in “sick”.
What do you want Sears to do? Shut down A&E because its techs are too lazy or disinterested in going to work?
Sounds like the perfect opportunity to start your own business. However stay away from Sears warranty work. The techs are talented with A&E. Probably could be why some are taking leave. The Titanic is sinking. Selling a SHW or a C/M will not get you a seat on the lifeboat. Only smart decisions can determine your future.
It says a lot that when alternative bids were made in bankruptcy, no one bid for Kenmore or A&E. And look where we are today.
