WARN notice (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act of 1988) guarantees 60 days pay. I think in the past the best bet would be to show up and stick it out with the hope you can get reclassified into another job. With the state of emergency situation going on I would think it would be prudent to stay home and collect your 60 days pay. After the 60 you would have the choice to retain cat A recall and receive bi weekly payments for accrued compensation or take the lump sum and never come back.

Back when I got laid off, you could choose to accelerate your layoff, but in doing so you lost all Cat A rights.....the way I remember it, I was advised to stick around until the end & that would guarantee my retaining all recall rights (Cat A) and also keeping my seniority for 7 yrs ( I heard it's 8 yrs now? ) , if I chose to go out the door sooner ( which was a viable option then too ) I would lose all that.Same went with accepting a lump sum payment of all they owed me; vacation/SL, final paycheck & yrs of service pay ( 1 week for every year of service, I believe it's still the same ) all rolled into a lump sum payment would negate Cat A rights too, at least back then. So, I was advised to stick it out until the bitter end, and then take my payments as if they were a regular paycheck, every two weeks on my regular ( formally ) payday. So for the next couple of months, I had a regular paycheck deposited, while I was collecting unemployment.....I did that & all worked out fine.I have no idea if it's different now, but I'd guess it's the same.

I’m probably wrong but I think there is a chance Boeing will release most people that work hourly union next week and pay until 7/31. It seems they did this in the past. They started after the 60 day warn became a requirement. I believe when they did this in the past it was considered a safety issue. Wish you luck.
