I love Lenovo and i Hope to go back. But they should stop giving lip service to how important women are in the workplace when the entire board of higher ups is 99% Chinese men.
Also, we got an email talking about bonuses YESTERDAY. And my boss and i remarked how cruel it would be to send that and THEN lay off people the next day. no company could be so color blind.
I started in DCG and moved to IDG and I can tell you the culture is significantly different. DCG still has the IBM - we are the best in the world mindset - and most executives there focus on building fiefdoms, hiring more IBM folks and coasting to their retirement. The team’s are bloated and have no focus. IDG is the exact opposite - there is a plan, a focus and results matter. if something doesn’t work, they move on. DCG is destined for the sc-apyard. The only question is when.
That DCG didn't meet its target is no fault of employees but it is fault of management and leadership at DCG and corporate level. Lenovo bought DCG to diversify its business but it is refusing to invest in that BU. This ensures that the DCG can never meets its targets as they don't have the resources needed (where is true sales and marketing leadership and capacity) and the goals are set unrealistically. There is also huge inequality where IDG gets paid 300% bonuses while DCG employees are made to feel guilty to get their measly 50% for all they did to help corporate to keep that business afloat. This creates complete lack of motivation and engagement on employee level. DCG employees are just waiting to get cut in next round (did anybody said September?) and the IDG employees feel like they support something they didn't sign up for. As soon as the asian electronic makers get their act together and attack the cash cow of IDG and the business results of that BU will go down with no backup plan as there is no strategic investment in diversification we will all share the pain. But since everybody, management and employees are only short term focused, it will be somebody’s else problem to solve.
Don't understand the comment about higher ups 99% Chinese. Get your facts right.. it's got diverse representation at board, top management. You gotta give credit where it's due. A lot of other US MNCs get 49% or more of it's revenue outside USA, but are really 99% American management
Oh it's all about money now. What career? Who plans a career anymore? It's just flower to flower until winter comes.
Wouldn't you still rather get extra money even if you are leaving?
Bonuses are paid correctly to employees for last fiscal year performance, that ended 31st March.
Nothing cruel about it, performance units that met or exceeded their results, got a pay out.
DCG did not meet any of its targets, None. The largest expense of that unit is corporate jobs in America, Let them go. They failed, again, 6 YEARS IN A ROW, 24 quarters without earning the corporation a thin dime in profit.
It is an IBM Executive culture, led by an Intel Dreamer.
If DCG was led by an executive in any other geography it would break even in 3 months.

They did the same thing g last year. It’s a repeating pattern and nothing new for Lenovo.
