To all my colleagues in the Aberdeen m/c shop. It has filtered through to Huston how many people have asked for voluntary redundancies. Someone close to Blake has said that Blake is furious and embarrassed about why so many people want away and that he has reached out to Aberdeen for answers. The source also said that Blake is now open to there being a problem that he previously didn't believe and if there is, it would be investigated.

Houston get real Sea Lion trees will be going no where near you lot. They will be going to GE now now. That project was getting grans from the British government. No way that work is going to Huston.
It's mostly to do with the freaks that work there.

Sea lion is not cancelled , it is very much part of future ongoing plans for the tree CoE.

He doesn’t need to look further than his own desk for answers. The numbers came from DQI on positions to go. When a department is getting wiped out- why wait and get basic hours when you can get basic pay from home for the next 6weeks.
If covid hadn’t come around- there would be no issue and nobody offering up to leave. If people were leaving in their droves of their own accord without payout/ garden leave - that would indicate an issue.

These people would receive the same package weather they applied for VR or not. It must be very embarrassing for DQ to know that so many would prefer to be unemployed than continue to work for DQ, especially knowing that there are so few jobs out there that people can go to.
Everyone had the right to ask for VR and bypass the full redundancy process if accepted.
40 + asking out of 115 is hardly surprising if you can leave now rather than endure another 6 weeks. The current atmosphere is not ideal for working.
