Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Health Insurance

I don’t think I’ll be going back to UP because my seniority is too low. I just started paying 950 a month for COBRA. My state doesn’t have expanded Medicaid and “he” is ending the ACA anyway “he” said so. Working people should start voting for our interests. It’s time for a single payer system for US. Like other countries have.

I wouldn’t count on that. He has a cult following.

That incompetent mo–n wouldn't have the slightest clue how to get rid of the ACA. He should be gone soon

Yeah right. And it’s top secret? Because even he doesn’t know what it is.

DJT developed a new health care system. But the democrats buried it. It would have been a great system.

That’s an option but not a very good one. Not paying your medical bill is as bad on your credit report as any other debt now. And it follows you for years. And sitting in an emergency room for 12 hours won’t work for cancer, diabetes, heart disease etc. Every other industrialized country has a national health plan. At least one of those countries we pay for. If our taxes can pay for another countries health care we should cover our own first.

If you get sick just show up at the ER like the illegals do.

Many won’t be going back. A single payer system would prevent corporations from holding health insurance over the workers heads. There will be jobs once everything get going again. It would be good if health insurance wasn’t keeping people tied to the companies like UP.

Health insurance shouldn’t be tied to employment

I think he said he will be paying for his own insurance. Less than 50% of employers offer insurance as a benefit anymore.

The sad part of it all is that there's probably thousands more like you that won't be going back either. Half of them probably won't go back because of the lack of work. The other half wont go back due to the fear of being laid off again.
