Just announced hiring of a New CEO for the Home Services Division.

Eddie hires people because giving skeleton crews more hours might push the people who have enough flex to take more hours into benefits territory, and brokea$$ Eddie can't have that. Stores that can fill those hours without going into full time won't post job listings while shutting down.
If Sears and Kmart didn't hire people to liquidate stores, and advertise those jobs, how would we learn which stores are closing next? ;-)

Comment all you want about hiring/firing, etc., 100% shut-d I wn, etc. The reality is this is Eddie's company, and he'll do what he wants. I have a hunch there will be many more piecemeal cuts. History has shown this to be Eddie's strategy in the past. There won't be a monumental boom boom blast, as one poster on here states. Sorry.

They shouldn't be hiring people now. You don't hire a captain for a sinking ship. They need to Fire everyone and close this entire company 100% TODAY. End it once and for all, and move on. None of this piecemeal, little by little, teeth pulling losing style. End it in 1 ell swoop NOW.
When Bradlees, Caldors, Jamesway, etc., closed, they didnt hire people. They pulled the plug, liquidated all stores in 8 Weeks, and disappeared completely, almost like they never existed. That's what needs to happen here.
