Listen it's a challenging environment right now and I wouldn't necessarily fault the business if they declare bankruptcy but there needs to be some sort of communication made to the employees. We've all seen the news, we can guess at what's coming but it's been a week and we've just had radio silence..... Not even a 'Hey we acknowledge the news and will have more information for you soon' just a blanket blackout. Regardless of the situation, that is poor leadership and will only make things worse.

Sad for the hard working employees and families this news is effecting . But the company had changed for the worse . You can only treat people like c-ap so long with out karma coming back on you . They forgot treatment of their people and having the right product was important they were trying to shove credit down everyone’s throats .
Well they sent out the emails at 6am to invite associates to conference call at 8am . To announce there plan . But with all the dishonesty the company has been peddling. . They expect loyalty but they have none they need to do better .
Vacation does not have to be paid out if you are not in a state that requires it.
I feel they wait until last minute to tell employees about the closures so the employees wouldn’t have enough time to jump ship and find another job. They are sick
The executives and upper management are completely incompetent and in over their heads. This is what happens when you don't care about results and skills. They promote based off of who will s— up to who and who will tow the company line.
Unfortunately the ones who gets hurt are the store employees and lower level corporate employees (the ones who work the hardest and do the most) and the ones who end up with all the spoils are the ones who did the least and performed the worst.
Very sad
Ascena is full of it. This has been in the works prior to the Dressbarn shut down. The execs wanted to make sure they lined their pockets nicely before doing major closures. The pandemic is just pushing them to do it sooner.
They’re completely inappropriate. Paid themselves out 6 million in retention bonuses but are closing stores in a week window, not paying out vacation and giving them small severance packages. They’re not even giving ppl enough time to find another job.
