I’ve never worked for a company that turned their back on an employee with no warning like this. So much for family first. I literally went to work Sunday night and get a call Monday afternoon telling me I’m furloughed which a few weeks later turned into a layoff. Then get a letter stating that I’m not allowed on the premises or any Canon function without permission or it will be considered trespassing. The hell with you !!!

Now forced to work 12 hours shifts. Vacation benefits cut. If you work hard you get screwed, they let the pansy employees get away with murder. So sad could be much better if run using common sense. Just another example of a liberal company.
I heard the software divisions were now laying off people. Not good.
Canon VA has no loyalty or respect for employees, as anyone who has worked for company is aware of. They project a fake sense of a family company. One example is they are going to make employees later in year go back to 12 hour shifts ,during a pandemic!!!! Everyone is aware you are more likely to contract a illness working long hours, but I guess they don’t care as long as they can make a larger profit!
Canon only has loyalty to the all mighty dollar. If they can make a nickel off of you they will force you to work god awful hours, management at Newport News facility has never had any respect for hard working employees. They cater to miniortys and groups with alternative lifestyles even if they are not productive.

Yes, I supported the company Saturday and Sunday only to be terminated on Friday by way of a canned voice message. Dispicable conduct to loyal workers. A multi billion dollar company profiting for many years in the USA must respect American workers.
