Thread regarding Occidental Petroleum Corp. layoffs

WFH Thanks..................

Looks like the new date will help many of us out. I am at a high risk age and really appreciate the fact we get to WFH a little longer. Say what you will, but with our full salaries back and WFH longer I am glad I did not take the VSP when offered. This is working out a lot better than risking not having a job, insurance, and other benefits. Oxy is doing this part the right way and I am thankful for that.

Please wear masks anytime you are out and about around people. It has been proven the transmission rate is very decreased among all mask wearers. If True, this gives the virus a greater chance of infecting less people, the less people infected the greater this virus dies out and we all can go back to normal at least somewhat.

It is likely we will find out more about the next moves once the Q2 earnings are released.

Enjoy the fake sense of security! It won’t last long. The EC has made it so that Oxy lives in a “Sunshine and rainbows” bubble not established in reality.

No way anyone is going back to work as long as cases go up. Today we had the highest death count.

WFH is definitely the right strategy for the next few weeks because of the virus in Houston.

Don’t complain. This is great news. Glad Oxy kept us home. The right thing to do. I an also at risk with pre-existing condition and I do appreciate Oxy trying to ear our respect back again.

Did you read the email? They are asking us to participate in a survey, so until then why don't you enjoy what we got. It is people like you that will not be happy until you have everything you want. What did you do with your kids when you worked at the office? I would say that is what you should do with them again. You are never going to get everything you want.

Hahahah. Cases are skyrocketing in TX and Houston is a major reason for that. If you think they are keeping it closed because of your happiness, then you are even sillier than your post. There isnt much you can do but just delay the comeback. If they truly cared, there would be in depth surveys to find out what challenges face the return to the office and a private request line for those that might need special accommodations moving forward and so on. Even as we speak, many of us have no idea where or how our kids school routines will be changing. Have there been any sort of adjustments discussed or explained about how that could impact our workforce. Right now this is bare min and you are praising Mgmt for it. You might as well say "Thank you sir, may I have another!"
