I've been with this company for a while and I can't recall a single time we've had layoffs on a Monday. The usual layoff days have been Tuesday through Thursday. So in all honesty, I'm not worried about going into work today. I'm much more worried about the rest of the week, though.

I was on my union negotiated pre-break, cool-down rest period.
Maybe u should read ur new contract instead of reading FB while u should b working.
Are we allowed to bump back into an area we used to "work" so that the productive new guy gets let go instead of the entrenched chair surfer? Asking for a friend.
Well, now that you've brought it up, they might get an HR person to go to work on Sunday and start laying people off on a Monday. Or else move the Thursday layoffs to Friday to mix it up a little. Companies don't like people predicting when they will be laid off for fear of erasing their hard drives and/or taking off with work information, etc.
when you just show up and don't work, one really doesn't know what day it is. Each day is just like the one before, each company is just like the one that owned you before. JOBS FOR LIFE!!!
