Thread regarding Boeing Co. layoffs

Airbus laying off 15,000. Boeing laying off 16,000

I predicted this in February. I was called names by the ignorants and the shills in denial.
I also told you to prepare. I hope you listened to me.
Now hear this:
It will get worse and worse. This is just the beginning. Hell will break loose after the November election. I said they cannot cheat the numbers about the virus but they are trying hard because of the elections (whatever it takes until then). But the virus is out there and it will keep k–ling people we like it, we admit it, we deny it, or not. The global economy will tank. Printing money out of thin air is a temporary patch to kick the can and it is unsustainable.
Minimize your expenses and save as much money as you can so you can survive the next three years that it is going to take to clean this mess caused by China. Do not underestimate the situation and don't become complacent. No, you cannot assume you will be OK if you get infected. Prepare for the worst.
Good luck, this is epic!

My post back in Feb 18:
https://www.thelayoff.com/t/13zyFW5Q

Somebody wrote to my post at the time:
"No layoffs yet, I work at the Everett plant....We keep on trucking at Boeing. Roll the next crew in and get the job done."

My response to that comment:
"Thanks for the update. They better find a bigger parking lot to store all those airplanes you are building. They won't fly anytime soon."

The mess was caused by China. Our incompetent/uncoordinated Federal Gov. is incapable of cleaning it up.
They are throwing money (more debt for us) to about everyone until December 1st. Then, you are on your own. Prepare now.

100% agree and yes more layoffs probably more like 30% or more before this is all said and done. What a mess.

######Airbus laying off 15,000. Boeing laying off 16,000
I predicted this in February.###########

News flash your prediction is still wrong.

Airbus is only dealing with covid. We aea dealing with covid plus mess of our own making on max. 777 is not selling , 50 undelivered left and only 300 orders of 777-x . Out of 115 emirates might covert to 787. No one wants such a large a/p at this time. 787 is only one making little money. Also because of our own mess and delays on 737 max customers are not bound by any contracts in most cases and can simply walk away. I do not need to say anything about 747 and 767 what is left of them.

So if anyone thinks that airbus laid off 15k and Boeing will be done by similar numbers think again???

I can be completely wrong but my estimate is about 15k jobs more in BCA alone will see the axe. This number is after the 31st july exit.

As sad it is for someone who took their work seriously it is the truth.

"it is going to take to clean this mess caused by China"

You can't blame this on China. You can blame this sh-t show on the Federal Government - absolutely no direction on how to get us out of this mess!

yes, 2 more rounds of layoffs at Boeing in the Puget Sound before the end of 2020, and I will guess another round of lay-offs in 1Q of 2021 .....the company says 15 to 17 % .....it will be more like 25% ....

List of European airlines bailed out and the amount. A record €33 billion euros and counting. Unsustainable.
Not long ago this was call "subsidy" and it was illegal. Now everything is acceptable.

Not this year but if a vaccine is not available and effective (some will be available just to mislead us and gain time but they won't be effective) by this coming Winter, then another 10% cut is highly possible in Q1 of next year.
Europe is bailing out the airlines to gain time but Europe will become a major mess in the next few months. Once they stop bailing out the airlines then the airlines will start cancelling orders in a massive way. No orders, no business for Boeing.
