Innovative engineering needs to take risk at fast pace, nit waiting for sign offs from 10 "materially" different iffy engineers who are unsure of the outcome ( essence if innovation) but surely do not play beyond touch points ( unless of course a higher level "smart" who has authority approves - internal bureauocracy wins)
Shell can’t do anything without being stepped on by HSSE. You really believe there are “non-native trees” being planted? Ok.
The real challenge pushing into green is that Shell can’t do anything that isn’t at a massive scale because of internal bureaucracy. Small green projects don’t have the heft to handle all of the typical safety and engineering touch points. Challenges are probably similar to shales / Unconventionals space.
