Has anyone else noticed a trend of those being played off posting sappy love notes about how they loved the company and that it was a great place? Makes me think there is a stipulation in the severance that requires it or something. Anyone know what that's about?

Ironically most of those executives writing the loves stories were responsible for thousands of layoffs last year. Hard to feel sorry for them.
The office I was in laid of 75%. I LOVED my coworkers and my boss. All the sappy posts I've seen are from people higher up in sales, VPs, b2b sales, LOB partners ect... anyone who has been at one job for 20+ years will be sad about leaving.
Glad I left on my own terms...I can trash this garbage a$$ company. Once a great company...leadership or lack thereof is usually congruent with how well a company is run. Need I say more?
How brave of you "Anonymous"!
You sign your rights away to sue the company and you cannot make any negative remarks about the company or you may lose your severance..
Well I’ve been paid so now I can say “Staples s—s, the mgmnt s—s and those who remain past the summer will die a slow painful death”
The agreement only stipulates that you do not make disparaging remarks about Staples or you lose the remaining severance.
I feel bad for these folks, truthfully. Picture how many of them know nothing other than Staples, and have zero clue how to operate in a modern corporate environment. Those of us who had foresight and left a few years ago, need to help place our friends and former coworkers into good jobs. As far as those who are still there and have watched their colleagues be axed while they get promoted, they can kindly go F themselves.
What is actually happening at Staples? More layoffs coming? Is their competition having similar issues or handling the downturn better?
It’s just LinkedIn who really cares.. if you’re that passionate about it, just do the post yourself.
They think it makes them look like emotionally mature; and desirable to new employers. What is really missing from LinkedIn is the actual truth. Where is the post that states all the negative that put the company into the position it’s in now? Why don’t we see even ONE post that says anything that’s a negative truth?? Things don’t change until people stop being blind and force change
RQD?
So...basically you are sending group text because you are too lazy to reach out to the people personally that may have impacted career positively.
RQD is a joke.
I agree with the last post, it does play well for new opportunities. I also believe there is some level of denial, most of these posts are from "leaders" who probably thought they had kissed enough behind to be safe. It is hard when you learn that you are no longer part of Staples Leadership AKA High School High. The good news? People like JG, MH, RQD and still way too many to name (but really who cares?) will soon be in the same boat.
It’s to show potential new employers that that took the high road, learned something from their experience, and made business connections along the way. It’s also a better way to say goodbye to everyone than having to personally call/text colleagues individually.
I think some of these people are taking the mature route. The bad publicity for the company is overwhelming and maybe that is vindication for some. No conspiracy here.
