Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

EDP PROGRAM

What do you think will be the future for edp’s? Will we have college recruiters actively seek new grads? In my opinion I feel that the edp program has opportunity and I’m not sure if right now is the best time for them yet. Especially with the February 2020 cuts of eliminating assistants and ma’s.

What will happen to existing edp employees?

Should be interesting since Macy’s typically is highly invested in recruiting new grads.

Is anyone else an EDP starting this Fall? I have not got any emails for the last two months and I am getting pretty worried.

What person, especially a college student, would want to work for Macy's? Come to work at Macy's, where we pay way below market, you could get laid off on a moment's notice, and we are shrinking so fast you'll be lucky if we are still around when you graduate!

Yeah, no.

EDP program is a big joke and has been for the last year. There are so few of us left, it seems like no one knows what to do with us so they’re just permanently placing us anywhere there’s room.

Honestly feeling like the EDP program is a joke at this point. We’ve worked so hard and now we’re just stuck with whatever job or laid off. Its unfair because we’re qualified to do more

It’s prob hard to entice a gen z to graduate and work in retail right now whether it’s Corp or stores. Edp program has a lot of much needed opportunity these days when it comes to structure, IMO.
