Many changes... Macys currently has MANY diff planning roles (financial planning, inventory planning, field planning, assortment etc). and this will tie the position to one and be more streamlined, it seems. I deleted some sections due to character limit.
Team,
As you know from other communications, today we announced a major restructuring across the company. I want to share more detail with you on the changes in Supply Chain.
Our objective in Supply Chain continues to be shaped by the Polaris strategy: develop customer-driven and highly efficient capabilities that support profitable sales, improved customer delivery service and a well-managed cost base that leverages our corporate assets. While our objective remains the same, the timing and activities have been reshaped by the accelerated growth in our digital business. Our immediate priority is to ensure we have the capacity and capability to meet the needs of our customers across all channels in a cost effective manner. In addition, we continue to focus on accelerating the growth of our Private Brands business by driving speed to market, lower costs and improved capabilities.
I want to thank this team for the incredible flexibility, resourcefulness, and persistence you have shown during the past three months. While our experience has been difficult, it has provided us with many learnings as we move forward. These learnings, along with our agility, will help us as we continue to navigate the uncertainties that the COVID-19 pandemic continues to present.
We have made several changes within Supply Chain to help support these priorities while limiting handoffs between partners and establishing clear roles and responsibilities. Important details around these changes are below. You can also find organizational charts in the coming days and specifics around each team on the microsite.
Merchandise Planning & Inventory Management – Led by Sandra Han, Senior Vice President
We are creating one integrated planning organization for the Macy’s brand by merging the following planning teams: Inventory Management, Merchandise Finance and portions of Field Planning and Assortment Planning. This will create a single owner of sales, margin and inventory plans and further streamline the planning process by reducing hand-offs. The Merchandise Planning & Inventory Management team will be part of the Supply Chain group, and will work closely with Merchandising and Finance.
Sandra Han will lead this new team, reporting directly to me. Most recently, Sandra was General Business Manager (GBM), Ready to Wear. The Merchandise Planning & Inventory Management team will be structured to provide clear partners for each GBM under Patti Ongman. Reporting to Sandra will be:
• Chris Crabtree, Vice President, MP&IM – Apparel. Most recently Chris was the DBM for Ready to Wear.
• Dave Rocco, Vice President, MP&IM – Center Core & Beauty. Most recently Dave was Vice President, Inventory Management for Center Core & Beauty.
• Danielle Nartowicz, Vice President, MP&IM – Home & Leased. Most recently Danielle was Vice President, Merchandise Finance for Ready to Wear.
o The three MP&IM VPs will have Directors aligned with Divisional Business Managers (DBMs), mainly focused on merchandise planning and ROF activities. Each Director will have a Merchandise Planning Associate focused on merchandise and assortment planning, and an Inventory Management Manager focused on allocation and replenishment activities.
• Priscilla Cipollini, Vice President, Planning Operations. Most recently Priscilla was Vice President, Merchandise Finance for Center Core & Beauty. Priscilla and her team will consolidate ROFs and company plans, liaise with Finance and support reporting and analysis.
Sourcing – Led by Bryan Riviere, Senior Vice President
We are clarifying and realigning the Product Development function across the Merchandising and Sourcing teams. Product, within Merchandising, will be responsible for assortment and design while and the new Development team, within Sourcing, will be responsible for Private Brands style execution. This will position us to grow our Private Brands business, allow for faster decision making and support product cost improvements. Reporting to Bryan will be:
• Lauren Rucigaj, Vice President, Development. Most recently Lauren was the DBM in Men’s. Lauren will lead the Development team, including the Tech Designs and Product Integrity functions.
• Brian Fey, Vice President, Sourcing Operations. Most recently Brian was Vice President, of Inventory Management. Brian will lead the Private Brands Operations, Business Development/Wholesale and Supply Planning functions.
• Nadine Turner continues in her role as Vice President, Strategic Sourcing.
Transportation, Vendor Collaboration, Reverse Logistics & SC Strategy – Led by Sean Barbour, Vice President

This team will lead strategy and process and will also be responsible for inventory tracking and transportation systems. This team will be led by Keelin Evans, Senior Director, Supply Chain Strategy and Process, reporting to Sean Barbour. Most recently Keelin led Inventory Management – Home.
In addition, the Customs function will transition from Sustainability and merge into the International Transportation team.
Other key leadership appointments have also been made in Transportation and Reverse Logistics. Reporting to Sean are:

While I am confident that the changes we’re making in support of our Supply Chain strategy will set up our team and Macy's, Inc. for success, I recognize the personal impact to many of our colleagues. We had to make difficult decisions resulting in some of our colleagues leaving Macy's, including Graham Poliner, SVP of Analytics & Inventory Management, and Pam Sweeney, SVP of Systems & Program Governance. I want to thank Graham, Pam and all those colleagues impacted by the changes for their contributions and service to the company.
I appreciate your support throughout this transition, as we restructure the organization to drive our business forward.
Thank you,
Dennis
