As a former senior academic administrator at Becker it is hard to see the college thrash around as it slides further towards its fate. Struggling before the pandemic, it will struggle after in more and new ways as its unimaginative and weak leadership team sputters. It has laid off people consistently for the past three years, cut pay, sold assets, slashed budgets, diminished services, eliminated benefits such as retirement match and dropped programs. Talent has departed when it can, leaving little left to help the institution manage through the difficulties it faces. Expect more layoffs, more departures, further pay cuts and benefit reductions until that day when there is no viable way forward.

Layoffs, plant sales, outsourcing, benefit reductions equate to impending doom. I worked there and have sympathy and if Becker survives it will have to be online.
Although the Dean of Humanities and Dean of Nursing and Health Sciences laid off back in May, several faculty laid off shortly after, and Dean of Veterinary no longer at Becker College the website indicates otherwise. Is this misinforming students and their families? There is new information that has been posted regarding COVID-19, Black Lives Matter, and photos with face coverings so there has been selective updates.
