I was laid off last year and had meeting scheduled on my calendar the day of... and walked in and saw my manager and our HR rep. Did not see it coming. I had a skill set needed by the company and I always got good reviews. The method was 'cancel project, layoff people on project'. they gave me 3 weeks to finnd another job, which I did - but chose severance instead. Yes -I wanted to retire there because of the pension and I'm in my 50s, but in the end, I decided moving on made more sense.
I feel so free though. I was lucky to get a great job soon after.
I heard Pro might have layoffs on Friday
I’m hearing tomorrow is the last day for layoffs. Has anyone received an email today?
“If Bose really has to lay off 500 or more people, it is hard to do in a couple of days.”
You sound like someone who has never worked there.
My thoughts are with everybody who is affected by this. Be strong!
Severance same as it always is. Not adjusted for covid.
Has anyone on this thread been told when their last day is? And what kind of severance they are offering?
“If Bose really has to lay off 500 or more people, it is hard to do in a couple of days.”
Maybe I heard wrong, but weren’t there 2000+ people laid off over the course of two days in January?
Please be patient. If Bose really has to lay off 500 or more people, it is hard to do in a couple of days.
I don't believe all of sudden hundreds of people are terminated by Friday.
Sonos announced they will 12% employees. Bose is privately-held, so it is not required to announce that publicly. That's the good part of being a private company: No Transparency.
Are there more happening today and tomorrow?
From what I'm hearing, it seems that unlike last year, when departures from the Framingham campus spanned Feb-June, this time people's last days are mostly this week? The last day for the majority is this Friday?
Heard PRO/PSD started yesterday and big percentage-wise. CED started yesterday. MGSC was Tuesday.
Anyone know about PRO?
Are there additional divisions being impacted?
I’m in DO and I got the meeting for tomorrow. Sigh.
Yes i think it was ASD yesterday, CED today, and DO tomorrow
I'd be curious on numbers overall
In my group it was about 10%
I think CED got affected by it
Any other details out there? I’m hearing that additional divisions will be impacted through Friday. No other info beyond that.
Yeah this was sent via email to CC and RDG Employees. Did those who got laid off get this email yesterday?
Obviously hosted event is to return your equipment like laptop.
“Others get notice of a "hosted event" at corp center Friday?”
No, how was the notice sent out? Via email or invite?
Others get notice of a "hosted event" at corp center Friday? "A large number of visitors will be driving through the parking lot" - uh, picking up their things?
“ Any one knows today’s number?”
No idea. The only communication I’ve seen is through this site, I haven’t heard a peep otherwise.
Someone here mentioned 30% of the impacted divisions though.
Any one knows today’s number ?
Just pull a George Costanza and don’t answer. Schedule meetings for next week.
I hope people are getting lots of time. Are they offering standard severance or maybe more
Stay positive, believe in yourself. Envision better. Help each other get thought this.
Positive vibes to all of you ! We will get though it
What does the email say
Got the email too , manager and HR. CED , tomorrow for sure.
“If you got a last minute email from management for the next day, you are being laid off. Sorry. That’s how they are doing it this time. Deep breath. You will get through this.“
That is nerve racking
They generally send end of day or after work.

When did they send the emails?

I got email too.
CED is tomorrow. I got email for a meeting with my Manager and HR
When you say “done” do you mean completely eliminated? Does this mean CIS/DO functions will be outsourced?
So DO is done.
Why do they keep inventing names?
HED, CED, IT, CIS, DO....
there are already enough acronyms to confuse people.
