I’m sure this question has been asked before. But as of recently has Transformco payed severance to employees laid off due to store being permanently closed? I’ve gotten yes and no but no one can give a definite answer. I figured I try here. Thanks in advance.

Pretty sure in California you can take the severance and still get unemployment for those weeks.
My store closed in April. I was paid severance. It is only for full time employees and is one week for every year worked. The max for hourly employees is 8 weeks and 20 weeks max for salary. Make sure to weigh your options before you sign the paperwork. A few people at my store did not take their severance since they would make more money on unemployment. Now the extra unemployment runs out next month but might be extended. Just make sure you check everything out before you accept it
