Can anyone ever remember a new ERP coming close to functioning as promised!! Yet, they will still probably do more layoffs to justify the cost. What are the supposed deliverables and which departments will take the hits??

The good news is for staffers who work on this project (no matter what level of deliverables are met )
They can put ORACLE CLOUD ERP on a resume, walk out the door, join a consulting firm and make a lot more money. Heck - they could even come back to Enbridge as consultants on Phase I, Ii, III, etc etc
This will also reduce head count because their positions will not be filled.
I've seen this dozen of times in the industry - ask any CONSULTANT how they got into the bizz "oh, I used to work for such and such company on this kind project and I found out I could make consulting"
I understand Enbridge will be the first major company to implement Oracle's cloud ERP. To complicate matters, teams are scattered across continents. Then came COVID-19. If this thing fails, heads should roll.
"Unify" not "Unity" .... Sorry my bad I thought it had quietly moved to PHASE II .... So with this CORRECT Project name it is sure to be ON TIME, ON BUDGET and work. LOL

Main goal was to take 2 legacy SAP systems and 1 legacy PeopleSoft system = roll them all
together into one big happy SAP ERP
Outcome, 3 separate SAP systems that limp along somehow until
IT sells the ideas of STREAMLINE Phase II which accomplished ?something?

Finally Spectra was saved from Phase III when they found a Canadian company stupid enough to buy the good the bad and the ugly. Why would anybody buy a company named after a cheap Korean car (SPECTRA) is still a real head scratched — but thanks😊

Over promised , under delivered. How many times have we heard that?
Remember Pipelink? Where ENB spent $400M and delivered nothing... failed directors got big promotions and vendors got filthy rich. Enbridge just cannot execute big IT projects... incompetent leadership/vision, improper planning and too much reliance on vendors.
I also recall comments about Enbridge’s shared service model being a core competency that would allow it to buy additional companies and integrate them with ease. I laughed at that then and am laughing even harder now. Unify being a big fat failure was so predictable. I guess it’s comforting to know you can waste millions and still keep your job though.
Should have left both companies to run on there own. Both were doing well.....
I remeber AM standing up saying that if the the 2 companies weren’t fully integrated in 2 years then the “merger” would be a failure, and how we shouldn’t use legacy How did that work out?
Unify is over budget, overdue, and has had its scope cut a dozen times. Enbridge cannot execute, and being able to execute IT and pipeline projects was one of Spectra’s strong traits.

Maybe a VR Helmet so you could work in a reality of your chosing. OR If you and your Manager were both in VR, they could better project empathy - of course you would have a low, medium,high setting.
But on the upside they did pick a super cool project name UNITY — How politically correct can you get!!

Wait, I'm confused. I thought SCM BPs did the fixing with no deliverables?
