Thread regarding Enterprise Rent-A-Car layoffs

Reinstatement after termination

I wanted to post a little hope for some ex employees. I was officially terminated in the first round of layoffs. I worked in the call center grp 76. I was just reinstated after termination at the same hourly pay rate and I get to keep severance. I am not sure how business is but it seems to be a little better if they are bringing me back. Just thought I would share my current experience.

Because I can’t get a job starting at 22 per hour with 3 weeks paid vacation in the middle of nowhere...that’s probably why I’d go back.

There were several St. Louis media reports stating 2000 laid off in their city. It was widely reported.

I know for a fact that some people have been called back. I know one girl that got called back in IRD. But I was told by my former manager that I would not be called back as my state, Illinois is no longer an approved state through enterprise. Has anyone heard of that? When I called her on it she got vague and asked me not to talk to her about it. I have always been a staunch supporter of enterprise and always felt like they treated me well I planned To stay until I retired. But this is not putting Enterprise in a very good light right now. There is talk of outsourcing is one reason so many people were cut. And the St. Louis media was told that only a couple hundred people were laid off. Enterprise is being very tightlipped about the whole thing. I’m wondering when there’s going to be a class action lawsuit for wrongful termination

Were you management? How are you making more on unemployment? I’m making the same as what I would have if I was still employed but I was Not management. Wow no wonder you’re angry lol

Why would someone make a fake post about going back to work? If you know anyone in enterprise you can literally just ask and get answers. This is a real post. Me and a few colleagues were called back for June. Don’t be upset about the truth just move on or find hope in a call back. What’s sad is someone coming back over and over again that it’s not real when it is.

You keep all severance until your start date. Any severance pay after that point stops.

Do you keep your entire severance? Even the portion for future dates? Or just dates up until rehire? Congrats. As a 20+ year employee I'm ready to get back too.

Anyone in IRD get called back? As far as I know, only RES agents have been called back so far.

They’re bringing back some res agents. They can’t train new people cause they laid off all the trainers.

I didn’t have to reapply to get reinstated. Maybe they are only bringing a few back? I am unsure. It’s possible that there were employees that jumped ship after the layoffs and they needed to bring people back. I start back in June and everything remains the same for me.

That’s interesting if true because my hr person told me as a group 76 employee we would not get called back nor were we put on any priority list for rehire. We would have to apply for the job just as a new employee would and go through the process. Within 91 days of lay-off reinstatement which didn’t say anything of about the same $$ just able to get benefits right away instead of the 3 month wait period as a new employee. After that you’d be considered a new employee.

It is legitimate I got a call and email for group 76 reinstatement.

Maybe it’s only call center employees? Grp 76 is all contact center so there could be more calls/complaints than they expected.
