Thread regarding Sears layoffs

I had an epiphany!

Go back to basics. It's so simple, it almost seems foolish. Go back to basics. S S KRESGE stores hold the key. Retail is cyclical and it's so clear that S S Kresge holds the key to the future. A completely new retail concept would be to build the stores exactly as they were and stock them exactly as they were. It could be a whole experience and new concept in retail. It would literally be time travel brought to life!

Did you finally pass this through your bowels yet? This idea is worthy of the "porcelain throne" in the outhouse.

read this slowly–"A completely new retail concept would be to build the stores exactly as they were and stock them exactly as they were". Eddie- you have to do better than that.

Too bad S S Kresge isn't around. He had more brain cells and retail intelligence in the pimples of his a–hole than 10 Eddies put together

Look up the word Epiphany in the dictionary. Then the word Abortion. I think you'll see you used the wrong word.

"I believe that segment is saturated with the likes of Dollar General"

I'm old enough to remember Kresge's. Dollar General et. al. are close to what those stores looked like–small footprint, a little of everything (sadly minus the soda fountain and lunch counter, though). Kmart could have done something like that, with a name that still had some good will attached) but did not have the vision.

I believe that segment is saturated with the likes of Dollar General, Five Below, etc. At this stage Kmart/Sears can not compete with those chains. I am not a Kmart hater, I would like to see them survive but it's probably unlikely. If they couldn't prosper when the economy was doing fairly well the last few years I can't see how it's going to survive now.

When you were having your epiphany, were you wearing your covid19 mask???

If you weren't, your diploma from Cheerleader University will be permanently revoked.

A whole experience? As opposed to a half experience? Open your checkbook, buy the naming rights to Kresge, build'em, stock'em, let us know how they perform. I'll wait...

Nobody here cares. If these ideas are as good as you think they are, you would be pitching them to corporate....not to a layoff board.

Do it in cycles of years. Stock the stores exactly as they were in say 1960 this year, 1961 next year etc. The product design already exists! This is so brilliant that I can't believe I thought of it!
