It's very possible, I worked around (subcontractor) and for GE for many years and they are no better than NOV. GE buys the competitor and then shuts the door on the place. They eliminate their competition. They keep key employees from businesses they buy just to train their own men and then it's layoff time.

Not gonna happen, GE want quality, profitability, reliability, sustainable businesses, not a pile of obsolete junk that any O&G Company can churn out, what do NOV have to offer, a treacherous senior management team globally, a reputation for supplying dross, and a moto that says it all....NOT OF VALUE,

I think Amazon should buy NOV. Our customers would love to buy equipment on-line and get it shipped for free in 2-3 days!!! Sure as hell would bypass the garbage dump of a management team at the Tower who are still sitting back to see if this whole "Internet" thing is going to take off or not!!

Now there's a rumour I haven't heard in a long time. Let's bring back to classics boys. If GE doesn't buy us, I'm sure Halliburton will.

Stop calling yourself “executive”. If you are THIS dumb to not see GE is divesting businesses (and not buying), you really should change your signature to “Random Eejit” and get a spot on the Voice’s next youtube circle-j3rk

Really, GE Market Cap 56B, NOV Market Cap 12B, if anything GE would take over NOV, but why? To add another loss making company to their portfolio, when GE continues to struggle with profitability ? especially so as they are busy exiting Baker Hughes completely. For me, more likely as NOV Mkt Cap continues to decline, somebody will realize they can make some money buying it on the cheap and selling off the various parts. NOV core business is already dead (Rigs) but some of the other product lines would make good second tier independent companies (eg) Grant Prideco. As a NOV shareholder I have watched my investment decline to point where essentially in my mind it is already written off. Even the Dividend has gone now.
