Thread regarding Textron layoffs

Listen to the wording, people!

Labor is receiving phone calls to go back on the 1st or the 15th of June by choice. Salary is receiving calls and being told to come back on the 1st or the 15th of June, with no choice of either. if you are going back on the 1st you are covering the 680 (Sovereign) line for literally 1 ac that is sold...When asked if this is temporary or not, the answer had a slight stutter and was told not sure. Net-jets dropped there total amount of orders down to 20 for the remainder of the year, and if the latitude was on track to deliver more than half of that, how is it that a few extra weeks off is going to make up for a "few" loss in deliveries to Net-jets? Textron is not Net-Jets only supplier of aircraft. Sounds like hopefully more extensions of furlough after the few weeks of the people going back on the 1st is going to happen or in worst case a lay off after the people coming back on the 15th of June! Some other lines are extended to the 6th of July, as well. Also was informed that latitude line is the only line effected by the loss in AC by Net-jets, and every other line is going back on the 1st of June. Does this mean they are the slowest line now? Not sounding good!

Daily screening is also being performed for Covid-19, but are they 100% sure they will always be right? Here comes another cluster, Cause I guarantee that not every employee of textron did not follow CDC guidelines! Stay safe everyone!

Rumors of 2nd shift disappearing on the 680a line have been flying around for awhile, however this furlough/cancelled orders may make it true, we shall see.

Not to scare/upset anyone, but if your a newer employee I would just consider not making any big purchases. I'm not saying anything will happen, but it really doesn't look pretty for the rest of this year. I've been hearing the same numbers of 20 -25% work force reduction. I know sales have been on the decline, but you never know it could turn around. Just stay positive and whatever happens, happens. I've been laid off, Yes it s—s, but if your smart with your money you'll pull through it.

Anybody know how true this master schedule is? Are layoffs really coming? I’ve been at textron for exactly 2 years. Will it get me?

Word is when everyone is back by mid June there will be a first round of layoff notices handed out. Those with July return date to be laid off in June will be contacted by their HR rep to report for "out processing" sometime in June, but before July. Everyone to be laid off will be notified before the end of June. 20% out the door is still the firm number. NetJet cancellations on Latitude and Longitude are very heavy XLS and CJ are very undersold. All Beech pistons are miserable sales. Times are very stark.
