Where is the rumor sourced from, though? Not trying to be a brownnoser or cheerleader. Apache is rotting, but I want to know if this is at all credible. I don't see why anyone would actually buy or invest in our Lower 48.

So when’s the slaughter? Thursday again?

Don't get my hopes up. However much risk it poses to my position, getting bought out or sold off to someone else is a much preferable alternative to any of the ineffective methods Apache management would put in place to stem the blood loss.

Don’t worry about a spin off (Altus was such a great idea)— no one wants “in” on that...in the Permian.

Rumors of further consolidation. A L48 spinoff a la CRC to reduce debt load and clean up the international balance sheet for a buyer seems increasingly feasible.
