Thread regarding Apache Corp. layoffs

Contrarian? Absolutely!

Apache has used Project Ascend to downgrade and downskill nearly every team in our “strong, diverse portfolio”. That is a move others are not taking. Cannot wait to see how this plays out.
Fire in the belly y’all!
Roll Call: What’s your favorite downgrade example?

Contrarian = Keeping an ineffective CEO in the role.
PREMIER companies don’t do that.
Apache is contrarian alright.

@Dramatic Man(sp?)

I think you meant if you are not cupping the balls, then you are part of what Apache considers the problem.

Do you really think people that got laid off simply did not speak up? LOL

I just want to add F$&% MS Teams. Why is THIS something worth focusing on right now? Give me a break. I would bet $100 nobody uses it by November.

I was shown the door this year for not being a "yes" man. Good luck providing constructive feedback. That's a fast track to join the ranks of the unemployed. I just still browse here for weekly reminder of how lucky I am to have moved on from such a horrible place. I genuinely feel for everyone still there.

Not to excuse the mo–ns at the top, but they don't see it as criticism. They see it as dissent. Doesn't make what they've done any less dishonorable, but they see themselves as blameless and undeserving of responsibility. Pretty much the only way to explain the psychology of their decision-making.

This company's "leadership" has proven to be thin skinned when it comes to criticism. How many people were shown the door for questioning Alpine High? If you questioned the Project Ascend nonsense, you got the same treatment. Only sycophantic yes men survive and thrive at Apache.

To the Project Ascend monitor who is all wound up,
It is fair to say that feedback has been given yet never received and acted upon since the start. This site has surely provided loads of it.
Feedback is feedback, anonymous or face to face. Inability and resistance to change or take criticism is a big problem.

Why not provide the feedback to the project team instead of hiding behind a the computer as an anonymous poster? If you don't have the balls to speak up and make a difference, then you're part of the problem.

How about hiring someone to run project Ascend. So many mistakes and errors. Now she is in HR. Wasn’t that team a big enough joke without that addition?

Forcing us to now store files in the MS Teams repository instead of just on the various servers like we did previously. Completely unneeded and a massive hassle, and how many worthless employees have we hired to organize and implement this transition?
