SR to close 2021
Charlottesville - was historically good with lower sophistication, rugged hardware but never a serious player in systems or software. Hard to argue this could be a strong regional office but headquarters of a digital business would require much effort given current capabilities.
Ge digital is worthless. Everyone in the company hates them and their lack of having ever contributed anything. Bunch of talentless hacks in San Ramon. So the company will keep them and promote of course.
Right. And VA is still less expensive
Ok so it wont be closed and is still the HQ, with the CEO based there. That makes sense.
My opinion SR is not going away just re-branded in smaller offices with under a couple hundred employees. 'GE Data Science' is born.
Why not nuke Charlottesville - yes it is less expensive , so is Chernobyl
Good luck - no way I am moving to VA
Wouldnt it look weird to fold on NO, SR and Boston and retreat to Charlottesville; although at this point the PR might not look as bad perhaps "back to the basics". But is there any talent in Charlottesville? That doesnt seem likely
Return to Charlottesville. Lower cost of everything.
There needs to be a place with critical mass of management and employees. If not SR, where would it be, Boston ?
It might survive if they reorganize it one more time.
Yes. Likely. But not for 16 months.
Hard to see how the org would survive without it - however if cannot be inexpensive to maintain. Where would the LT be based then ?
