Don't look now, but Amazon is in talks to Angel JCP. Just think, Eddie was richer than Bezos when all this started.

Neither JCP or the eviscerated Sears or Kmart has anything that will draw customers back. JCP's proposed split to allow REITS like Seritage is a short term cash flow game, that will not bring back any customers.

TransformCo has no market. It is either turned around or over. Its liabilities far exceed its assets and quite frankly the executive team has failed over and over to demonstrate it is capable of operating a business towards profitability. It’s one poor decision after another. It has been squandered and it’s only Eddie’s ego holding it together.
Took Kresge 25 years to build Kmart up from 1 store to more than 2000. Took Eddie 15 to take it from more than 2000 to less than 35. That's the difference between Eddie and Kresge. Eddie's neighbors all think he's a class A-hole for destroying American companies, and even Nina raised a ruckus because she spoke about Eddie being a bad man.
That would be awesome!! Kmart, JCP, and Sears all in one. They could rebrand all Sears and JCP as Kresge fine department stores and then roll out thousands of small format Kmart's. They could easily claim reclaim number 1 retailer in the world.
